Yuletide greetings

Well, the holiday season is in full swing, now starting well before Thanksgiving and the dreaded Black Friday in shopping terms. The day after we have devoured our flightless friends, we string up the lights, start wrapping the presents, and blast yuletide musical madness through the speakers.  Some begin this practice earlier, some later, and still others bah humbug it along and forgo the festivities. Well, whatever your propensity, I have a couple of thoughts in regards to friendly greetings to bounce off you.

Let’s first take a look at several of the ways to recognize this tibe-kind-belize-logome of year.

  • Merry Christmas
  • Happy Holidays
  • Feliz Navidad
  • Happy Hanukkah
  • Season Greetings
  • Yuletide Blessings
  • Blessed Winter Solstice
  • Peace on You
  • Hello
  • Good day

Although, this is simply a fraction of the different ways to greet others this season, all are acceptable, kind-hearted, and non-threatening ways to acknowledge another human being.  Why would you get offended? Wouldn’t it be more offensive for someone to ignore you.  To simply walk past, nose in the air, acting as if you had no importance and worth of any kind?

So, next time you are told ‘Merry Christmas’, maybe respond in kind with the same or your particular flavor of yuletide greeting.  Worst case scenario, everyone wins and feels validated.
