I read the title over and over again, though the practice is sometimes still hard. Love all? When so many are hard to love or even seem unlovable, it is easier said than done to be sure. However, ‘LOVE’ is truly what makes the world go round. Love is what causes individuals to come together for a cause, to help a stranger in need, or to comfort a neighbor who just lost a loved one. Interestingly, you can actually love someone and not like them very much, so thankfully love and like are not synonymous. If you disagree, just ask the parents of a rebellious teenager or a lover scorned.
Now on to the phrase “trust a few”, that is one most of us can relate to. Hopefully, we all have one or more folks we can confide in without worry of finding ourselves in the nuthouse or worse yet, the hoosegow. Scary! Rule #4 according to Gibbs “The best way to keep a secret. Keep it to yourself. Second-best, tell one other person, if you must. There is no third best.” and this rule has proved true throughout my short 44 years.
Finally, let’s talk about the impossible for a moment. My guess is the only one that may have successfully achieved this was Mother Theresa and even that is a stretch. Humanity brings along with it certain desires, one of which is revenge. Now, one can strive to be good, kind, and without malice, however, that is a pipedream in its simplest meaning. We can live a generous life, one full of charitable giving, hours of volunteer work, and devoting every day to helping fellow mankind in a multitude of ways. Even then, we are susceptible to anger, resentment, and bouts of jealousy that turn toward retaliation.
Nonetheless, I do agree with the words written by William Shakespeare and striving to be a better version of myself. Each day I continue moving forward, one step at a time toward greatness (albeit, I am pretty darn awesome already) and making the space around me full of love and light. I hope you do too!
Just my bits and pieces…
